Regional and traditional products
The system of Regional and Traditional Products makes it possible to obtain crops of high quality and distinctive organoleptic characteristics. Products bearing the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) logo are products of specific varieties, produced in a region of the country where there are special climatic conditions that have a direct impact on the final product obtained.
The basic premise of a Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) is that the product comes from a specific place, region or country, whose specific quality, reputation or other characteristic is primarily due to this geographical origin, and at least one stage of production takes place in this specific area. At QA Solutions, producers can apply for certification of two Regional and Traditional Products - Grójeckie Apples and Galician Garlic. Each product has specific requirements that it must meet in order to be labeled with the Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) logo. The stages of production evaluated include: product description - quality and organoleptic parameters; geographic area; proof of origin; production method; labeling.
