Basic Information About LEAF Marque Standard

LEAF Marque (Linking Environment And Farming) is a leading organization promoting sustainable agriculture and food production. The LEAF Marque standard was established in 1991 and targets the primary sector. It is based on a method of farming that respects the environment.

It aims to develop and promote Integrated Farm Management (IFM), which combines the best traditional methods with modern technologies and growing awareness among farmers.

LEAF Marque - highlights:

  • is a quality assurance system based on the principles of integrated production,
  • based on existing schemes to avoid duplication of requirements,
  • subject to inspection and certification by authorized certification bodies,
  • can be applied to all sectors of primary production,
  • enables use of the LEAF Marque logo.

1. Contacting the Agricultural Standards Department

The first step is to contact the staff of the Agricultural Standards Department. To do so, please contact us by phone, email or fill out the contact form at Contact.

2. Filling out the application form

The application form is available for download on the right (under the heading "DOWNLOAD FILES"). Please send the completed form by email to an employee of our department. The information provided will allow us to prepare a suitable offer for you.

3. Offer and signing of the contract

We present you with an individually prepared offer and the rules of cooperation with our unit. After signing the contract, we proceed with the certification process.

4. Leaf Marque registration and audit scheduling

After the company joins LEAF charity, the Unit registers the company in the LSFR system. 

Audit date is set in consultation with you. 

5. Audit

Audit is conducted at the company/farm with the required proportions of time devoted to the audit of the production site and evaluation of documentation.

6. Audit report and closure of non-conformities

After the audit is completed, you receive a list of non-conformities found. The audit report is also entered into the LSFR system.

For a certification audit, the time for closure of nonconformities is 90 days, while for a recertification audit it is 28 days.

7. Certification Decision

All audit documentation is subject to technical review at the Certification Body, as a result of which a decision is made on the outcome of the certification process. The Body makes a decision on the issuance of the certificate within 28 calendar days after closing all non-conformities. If there are no nonconformities during the audit, the decision is made no later than 28 days after the end of the audit.
