SPRING
Basic information about the SPRING module
SPRING (Sustainable Program for Irrigation and Groundwater Use) is a program involving the evaluation of a sustainable irrigation and groundwater use program.
The current version of the module focuses on topics that are divided into four sections:
- Water management risk assessment - focuses mainly on water risk analysis, training, water management plans
- Compliance with applicable laws - whether the producer complies with legal requirements related to documentation on infrastructure and land use, among other things
- Water management and use assessment - involves assessing sustainable watershed management including rainwater recovery and storage
- Environmental management assessment - protecting water sources and minimizing the negative impact of water use on the environment.
This add-on offers opportunities for Producers to take a practical and cost-effective path to farm management at the water management level. This translates into meeting imposed regulatory requirements and protecting numerous ecosystems.
We encourage you to review additional information materials available on the standard: SPRING
