IFS Logistics

Basic information about IFS Logistics

The IFS Logistics standard is dedicated to companies that provide warehousing, logistics and transportation services, i.e. anything that involves outsourcing transportation logistics.

The standard was developed by German and French retailers in cooperation with international experts, and its main purpose is to monitor what happens between production and distribution.

IFS Logistics is applicable to food and non-food products and covers all activities related to transportation, warehousing, distribution, loading/unloading, etc. The scope of application includes all types of logistics: delivery by road, rail or ship; refrigerated/frozen or non-refrigerated transportation.

IFS Logistics requirements include six chapters:

  • Senior management responsibility;
  • Product quality and safety management system;
  • Resource management;
  • Service delivery;
  • Measurement, analysis, improvement;
