TPCP
Basic information about TPCP
A standard aimed at companies exporting food to the US, developed in accordance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
CSQA is the first and at this point the only European institution accredited by ANAB to certify this standard.
The standard is applicable to almost all companies under FDA jurisdiction from primary production (e.g., fresh fruits and vegetables and related processing activities) to production of broadly processed foods.
The standard is governed by the Code of Federal Regulations - 21 Part 1 Subchapter M and includes voluntary certification of a company's food safety system for various sectors:
- 21 CFR 112 - product safety standard applicable to fresh fruits and vegetables, sorted and packaged without altering their physical condition,
- 21 CFR 117 - refers to preventive controls for human food and applies to processed products,
- 21 CFR 101 - additional labeling requirements and 21 CFR 130 for dairy products, applicable to specific products covered by the additional regulations.
Standard aimed at companies exporting food to the U.S.
.Benefits of Third Party Certification Program:
- A company certified to comply with the TPCP can access the U.S. market in a proactive manner, providing importers already enrolled in the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program (VQIP) with an accredited certificate of compliance with applicable regulations, facilitating the import process and qualifying as a supplier with a high level of credibility.
- Benefits at the customs level, i.e., expedited customs clearance process and reduced analysis at customs before the release of products.
- Less risk of inspections conducted at the manufacturing facility directly by FDA officials - inspections are carried out according to the risk level, which automatically becomes lower for companies certified to the TPCP standard.
